Ninek, Raid Leading, Frends!
Outland, ho!
I dinged level 58 this week.
/played = 35.5 hours
Level 58
56 achievements
570 achievement points
2735 HK’s
So, uh, scary accurate on the /played to 58. Last week, I guessed it would take 12 more hours to reach 58, and I had played 24 hours at that point. Let’s see how long it takes to slog through Outland; lightning strike twice?
Notes
- Battlegrounds
- Honor kills per hour rate is dropping slightly: down from 100 hks/hr to 79.5 hks/hr. This is due to me switching from AB and WSG to EotS because 1. I need achievements and 2. I like EotS a whole lot more than either AB or WSG.
- Ran into someone multiboxing 5 orc hunters in EotS. One-man/five-character zerg. He was BM, so he didn’t hit hard, but his five spiders did. He had a tauren pally pocket healer with him. Though that two-person/six-character zerg was effective, the rest of the Horde was abominable. We lol’ed our way for a 1000-point victory
- Speaking of which, I don’t know why the Horde are abysmal at EotS in these early levels. I have 16 wins versus 5 losses in EotS. Compare that to WSG (11 wins, 11 losses) and AB (9 wins, 7 losses). Haven’t tried Alterac Valley yet.
- Also, EotS at these low levels is ridiculous. I’ve had two, maybe three battles that were not 1000-point victories for the winning side. It’s as if people give up even though EotS is the easiest battleground to mount a come back in.
- What is hard is Stormy Assassin. Just can’t get it no matter how hard I try. Part of that is due to the quick EotS battles: longer battles mean more opportunities to get 5 honor kills at each node. Part of that is due to strategy: I’ve only seen a couple good zergs from either side, most are content to capture 3 nodes and run the flag. Part of that is due to a buggy achievement: I have had to kill seven or eight Hordies at a node before the game would show that I’ve fulfilled that step of the achievement (yay tracking.)
- Leveling
- Elwynn Forest to Westfall to Redridge Mountains to Duskwood to Northern STV to Cape of STV to Western Plaguelands to Eastern Plaguelands to Badlands to Searing Gorge to Burning Steppes to Blasted Lands to Hellfire Peninsula
- There’s a quest that takes you from Light’s Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands to Fuselight in Badlands. You ride a goblin rocket ship. Because it’s not considered a gryffon, you explore and get exploration xp for flying over unexplored areas. I racked up over 3500 xp on the trip, not an insignificant amount at level 50.
- I did exactly one quest in Searing Gorge. I leveled myself out of the zone before I stepped foot in it. I killed some spiders, then headed over to Burning Steppes.
- Thanks to my store of cloth, I’ve been able to keep first aid leveled as I level. I can make Heavy Netherweave Bandges, which heal for 3400 health. At level 58, I have 4200 health. One bandage can heal 81% of my total health. Win.
Raid Leading
Last Sunday, our raid leader announced that he was going out of town this week (we all laughed at/with him leaving at “retarded o’clock” Friday morning.) He asked if anyone wanted to step up to raid lead. Hems and haws all around until I spoke up.
I hope karma and fate had a good chuckle.
Last night’s raid was as successful as I could have hoped. Got our farm bosses killed, bad raid leading only caused one, okay, two wipes. I’ll take it. Would be nice to get some mail drops. In the 8 weeks since Firelands came out, I’ve gotten one drop. Sure, it was the most important slot—ranged weapon—but no gear upgrades otherwise. I suppose this makes up for my good luck in T11. Other people are gearing up, so that’s good. Still, we’ve de’d a lot of stuff, which, for 10-man raids, stunts progression something fierce.
Frends come too faire teim! We sho frends hao Minisnowtans partay!
Last year, we conquered Niagara Falls. This year, the Minnesota State Fair! Don’t expect any posts from me until after Labor Day.
